Built as a replacement to the existing Townlands Community Hospital, the scheme provides a new three-storey concrete frame, built into a steeply sloping site. Due to the nature of the site, the development was carried out in a structured sequence, in order to allow construction to proceed while some of the existing hospital accommodation was still in use.
Now complete, the campus consists of the 18 bed community hospital, 12 bed palliative care facility (within the hospital building), 64 bed care home, 32 assisted living units plus managers flat, 12 key worker apartments, open space and landscaping, parking, infrastructure and access works; including a new access point into the site.
