The scheme comprises a new build Leisure Centre alongside the existing facility before eventual demolition. The facility mix includes a 25m x 6 lane swimming pool, changing village, fitness suite, two dance studios and a car park.
CCE provided the overall Civil and Structural design for the new facility and relevant car park. The site had a number of constraints including buried utility easements, an adjacent development, and the existing facility remaining live; as well as a number of design challenges including flood zone location, poor ground bearing pressure, a high-water table and heave and gas protection requirements. In order to resolve such issues, we continually worked with the Project Manager and design team to coordinate and mitigate these potential issues to ensure a smooth project delivery.
