We were appointed by the Clients as part of a team under the OGC procurement strategy to prepare the Structural and Civil Engineering tender documents for this design and build contract.
The scheme involves the refurbishment of the existing 1930’s building to an exacting standard that on completion will combine bespoke clinical facilities with a hub for firms to engage with clinicians and academics.
This £24m project will enable Birmingham’s world class clinical academic groups to generate new research questions for investigation and potentially new approaches to the treatment of patients from one of the largest patient catchment regions of Europe.
This five storey building will be updated and modernised to provide a mixture of clinical laboratories, offices, lecture theatres and training rooms together with a variety of ancillary facilities in support of the Institute of Translational Medicine.
Our extensive knowledge of the buildings enabled us to make a positive contribution to the viability and economics of the project.
