CCE were appointed to provide full Structural and Civils design for a new Research Centre that will enable the University of Birmingham, Rolls Royce and other potential industrial partners to establish a unique world class design, manufacture and simulation research facility. This £13m project will provide a specialised research facility with a mixture of offices, technical laboratories, industrial space and ancillary facilities. Industrial research space will house a variety of equipment to include furnaces, die casting equipment, kilns etc. The furnace is 8.5 metres high and will require a 4.5m deep pit and the project at present is at detailed design stage and will be tendered early -2013.
This is a technically challenging project with multiple stakeholders with complimentary drivers.
