The new centre was built on vacant land, as part of a wider effort to plug shortages in key manufacturing skills, such as automation, programming, and additive layer manufacturing.
The 3-storey training facility includes numerous high-tech classrooms, workshops, dining areas, open spaces and a very impressive auditorium; and was a technically challenging project with multiple stakeholders with complimentary drivers.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team CCE designed the facility with flexible accommodation that satisfies the requirements of the various partners and users. The scheme is predominantly steel framed with insitu concrete floors.
