We were appointed by the Clients as part of a design team under their current framework contract to prepare the Structural and Civil Engineering design for the proposed remodelling of the former BCU building under a design and build contract.
The scheme involves the total refurbishment of the existing 1960’s building which was previously remodelled in the 1990’s into the new Aston Business School. The scheme will include the demolition of secondary buildings to create a standalone prestige building.
This £20m project will enable Aston’s Business School to continue to develop as a centre for excellence into the future.
This five storey building will be updated and modernised to provide a mixture of flexible teaching spaces and open plan offices for lectures and postgraduate research.
Our previous knowledge of the building and experience with working with other members of the design team has enabled us to make a positive contribution to the viability and economics of the project.
